What I'm best known for as a photographer? I'm a VERY patient person. This comes in handy when photographing children, as you might already know!
Sessions with me are relaxed and fun. My goal is to capture real emotions, genuine smiles and infectious laughter! While I do think every photo session should include some posed shots, I also love capturing candid moments that reflect kids being kids! And if you're worried your kids won't sit still, no problem! That's what kids do. My approach is calm and go with the flow. I don't believe in making a child sit, smile and say "cheese". I much prefer to capture their personality and spirit.

The name "SUGAR AND SPICE" was inspired by my sweet and fiery twin baby girls, Emma and Izzy
I graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Textile Design. I was a textile designer for 10+ years before I decided to pursue my own business 110%. Photography and design have always been a passion of mine, and it makes me so happy to share my talent with others!
Since 2007, I've developed my own art of editing every session to perfect with a clean, vibrant, and classic style. I'm all about timeless photography that will look good no matter what's trendy right now as your photos will be shared from generation to generation!
Ever since I bought my first "fancy" camera, I knew this is what I was meant to do. Simply put, I love photography and the art of editing.

Laura is our favorite photographer in Connecticut! She was referred by a good friend, and we have used her for all of our baby/dog/family photos since then. She is sooo patient and somehow always manages to capture us in beautiful ways, even during chaotic moments (think newborn and energetic corgi) when I was sure that none of us could possibly have been looking good at the same time!
